The season of Jubilee is associated with ten major blessings. In this devotion, we will be discussing five of them as follows: 1. Repentance or reconciliation with God [Leviticus 25:9]. The tenth day of the seventh month was a day of seeking God in prayers of repentance. Those who desire Jubilee blessings must forsake sin [Psalms 66:18]. 2. Release. Jubilee was a period in Israel when slaves were unconditionally released and allowed to return to their families [Leviticus 25:10]. In Christ Jesus, we returned to our proper family, the family of God and we were released from sin, curses, bondage and poverty. 3. Return. At Jubilee, both properties and persons were returned to families. No matter what anybody owed, they were to go free of charge. Whether it was land, animals, houses etc that had been taken from the debtor as collateral were returned to their original owners [Leviticus 25:13]. Therefore, everything you lost in life, shall be returned to you in Jesus mighty name. 4. Rejoicing. Jubilee is a time of praise. Isaiah said, Jesus came to "...to give them the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness" [Isaiah 61:3]. Beloved, if you are down and frustrated, you can turn that situation around through praise. If you have no money today, celebrate God as if you are a millionaire. 5. Restoration. In the season of Jubilee, properties and privileges that were withheld from the destitute and slaves as a result of their indebtedness were restored back to them automatically. I decree, let there be restoration of all things in your life, in Jesus mighty name [Joel 2:25].
